Prof. Dr. med. Carsten Möller Neurologist FMH
Prof. Möller performed his medical studies at RWTH Aachen (Germany). Subsequently, he did his internship (“Arzt im Praktikum”) at Max-Planck-Institute for Neurobiology in Martinsried (Germany) and in the Dept. of Neurology at Klinikum Großhadern (Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich). After a two-year research stay in the Dept. of Neurobiology at Stanford University in Palo Alto (USA), he continued his special training in neurology at the Dept. of Neurology of Philipps-University Marburg (Germany), where he also achieved his habilitation and still has an extraordinary professorship. Last he worked there as managing consultant (“geschäftsführender Oberarzt”). In 2010 he changed as a senior consultant to the Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland in Lugano, where he contributed to the creation of a Clinical Trial Unit and an experimental laboratory for translational research. Since August 2014 he is senior consultant and scientific director at the Center for Neurological Rehabilitation in Zihlschlacht (Switzerland) and since October 2015 deputy chief physician at the same hospital. His main clinical and scientific interest has been for more than 20 years Parkinson`s disease (PD) with a special emphasis on its early diagnosis, the treatment of its advanced stages and the sleep/wake disorders associated with PD. Prof. Möller is German and Swiss citizen. His family lives in the canton of Fribourg.
